Asian knotweed invasion into river ecosystems has been on the increase over the past two decades. Knotweed's highly competitive nature and spread is reducing native vegetation presence and function along riparian zone of many river basins of Lincoln County.
The current phase of this project involves treatment, maintenance and monitoring of past treatments.
Lincoln SWCD's strategy is to treat every known knotweed site at least once per field season, prioritizing upstream infestations first.
