Knotweed is an invasive plant species that has the ability to spread rapidly and out-compete native plants. This can potentially reduce diversity within floodplains of rivers and streams. It also has weaker bank stabilization properties than native vegetation.
This project was designed to help eliminate the negative effects of Asian Knotweed. Each site was replanted with a combination of site specific shrubs, trees, and if needed, erosion control grass mix.
